Important! Deposits due for Mexico!

Hey Everyone!
If you are planning on joining us in Puerto Vallarta, time is of the essence!
Rates are still low. If you wait until the last minute, the resort might actually be at capacity, which is why I'm posting this.

To secure a room, all you need is the deposit. The balance wouldn't be due until October (unless you book through Expedia - obviously, payment is due upfront).

Another good reason to get your deposit in is if you want to fly with a certain group. My parents and family are leaving from LAX on Wednesday and they all managed to book the same time so they can carpool down there together.

If anyone has questions, or needs help booking anything, or is having problems booking, please feel free to call or email us!

Again, I just post this for anyone that knows they are coming for sure and is waiting until the last minute - it might be better to at least get your deposit down (it should be less than $200 for that)

With Love,
Jill & Michael

If you are not staying at Dreams resort.....

Just as a heads up, there is a day pass required to enter the resort if you are not staying there. I'm not sure what it is yet, but wanted to give you a heads up! I believe it's something like $70-$80 for a full day pass....they have half day passes too.

Fun stuff to do at Dreams!!!!! woo hoo!

So, I just read a blog from a future Dreams Puerto Vallarta bride. She just got back from visiting the resort and had some things to say!

According to her review, there are nightly events/entertainment at Dreams....
Tuesdays - Fiesta Night
Wednesday - Fire Dancing
Thursday - Circus Night
Saturday - Rock & Roll Beach Night
(she couldn't remember the rest....)

She also said that the staff make nightly sober driver trips into town, so if guests from the resort want to check out the downtown area, they don't have to worry about a taxi. The staff also stays with the group to ensure everyone feels safe - although, I have heard from numerous reviews that the downtown area in Puerto Vallarta is very safe.

Just a few fun events to mention!

Rooms at Dreams Puerto Vallarta

I'm sure if you use Susan Sarver, she will explain this to you, but there are two towers with different types of rooms available. We are staying in the newer tower along with some of our family. The older tower is still nice, but just not renovated like the new one is.

This is what the new ones looks like: (hopefully it works....)

Here are the older ones:

Don't worry about the Violence!

So, I understand there would be concerns about traveling to Mexico right now with all the violence going on, however, I have been involved with a Destination Wedding Forum for a while and there are brides that return from their wedding to tell about their experience. One fellow Puerto Vallarta bride forwarded me the article below.

Title - Puerto Vallarta Safe and Waiting for You!

Whenever traveling, it is natural to worry about one's safety. Rather than relying on media hype from news stories, which leave us with misconceptions that are simply different from what is reality, a more trustworthy source is from visitors like myself and residents of an area. For that reason, I share with you my own experience as it relates to safety in Banderas Bay. Despite rapid growth and development in Puerto Vallarta and its surroundings, the region remains one of the safest areas in the country. A big part of this is the fact that it is still a small pueblo where neighbors know one another and watch out for each other. One doesn't walk down the street at any time of day without encountering a friendly smile or even a "hola." Dining out at night at any of the best gourmet restaurants in Mexico or the local taco stand, the ambience is friendly and comfortable. You'll feel secure in the pursuit of any activity you enjoy. I have been here for a month now. My family joined me for a vacation along Bucerias beaches that were delightful and uncrowded. In the last two weeks I have been spending my days visiting owners and their villas. I travel solo and fetch taxis to my destinations—the cabbies are as friendly and accommodating as ever. In the evenings, I walk the Malecón where locals and tourists stroll in harmony. Sculptures artfully installed at intervals encourage you to dally awhile. Music in the Zocalo prompts you to listen while catching the aroma of roasting corn on the arms of the balmy evening air. I park myself on a convenient bench to try the kernels with salt, chile and lime. The Mariegalante heads for shore as I await her fireworks to illuminate the night sky. It is dark when I arrive home a pie . This has been my routine on many of my visits and this time it was not different in any way. Puerto Vallarta is a happy place I cannot wait to return to and I invite you to experience.Wherever we wander, our best protection is projecting a smile, exuding self-confidence and remaining alert to what is happening around us. Harmony fosters peace.
